hard to believe, but true.
With economic issues of late, there are inscrupulous individuals who have targeted DCs for the purpose of filing suit claiming the doctor has injured them. The DC has been chosen because so many do not obtain objective, court-verified measurements prior to treatment. This makes it much easier to successfully "scam" them out of a settlement for such claims.
There were two cases this year where the patients filed board complaints (with the goal of a lawsuit for injury) where the doctor gathered DynaROM data prior to ever touching the patient. The DynaROM data proved injury prior to treatment, putting an immediate end to this scam.

PI Cases: Perform DynaROM 2-3 times during a case.
Perform the first measurement at a minimum of 6-8 weeks post-MVA, or any time up to 5 years post injury, depending upon the case.

The DynaROM test simultaneously measures both muscle guarding and ROM over the span of about 30 seconds with 3 full motions. There are 6 of these 30 second tests to measure flexion, extension, left and right lateral flexion and left and right rotation.
This graph shows an uninjured (ideal) patient performing a single lumbar flexion. As the patient bends forward, muscles fire to stabilize flexion. In full flexion, muscle activity drops. When the patient stands up, muscles fire again to help return the body to a neutral, upright position. Note the characters at the top of the graph; seeing what position the patient is in allows everyone to better understand the results.

DynaROM has revolutionized the entire process of quantifying soft tissue injury by keeping adjusters, doctors and juries focused on the quality of data. Insurers have seen the impact this data has on juries, increasing the probability they settle cases in a manner best for the patient.
- DynaROM provides objective data to support or refute unsubstantiated opinions
- Proven track record in courts
- Helps establish the quality of the case from the start
- Demonstrates soft tissue injury where all other methods fail
- Focuses the adjuster & juries on quality of data vs. credibility of expert
- Admissibility has been established
